I'm a retired elementary teacher. I was moving most of the day when I was teaching those active little guys, but now not so much. It's really hard for me to walk just to walk. I keep starting a walking program and then stopping. The "destination" walking we do when on vacation comes naturally, but we live in an area that makes "destination" walking dangerous. The pounds are creeping on and are more difficult to shed as the years go by so I know I need to get moving. I hope this website helps me to stop starting and instead stay with it.

The things that keep me motivated is to hang all my outfits someplace where I can see them often. Put a before picture of yourself on the frig. look @ it everytime you open the door and it will make you think real fast as to what you are going to take out to put in your mouth. I usually just get a bottle of water, go for a walk or read a book and drink the water, when I am finished I have forgotten what I was looking for in the frig. It really work for me. God Bless.

Great job, Robert! I'm rooting for you! I'm an "empty nester". My daughter and I were great motivation for each other when she was living at home. Now she's a great inspiration to me... just wish I had her company! Enjoy it while you can! And now, you are a great inspiration to me, too!

When I start to "waffle" and think I deserve a day off, I say to myself STOP - THIS IS NOT AN OPTION. Really, it's not an option for me with weight problems and diabetes.
